This is the time for starting new season of paddy plantation. It quite a lengthy process, starts with preparing the main fields as well as the rice nurseries. We use only cow dung and of course rain water for the field preparation.

We also use our own paddy seeds we saved from our previous harvesting cycle.

We got good seedlings in our rice nursery – the small area of the field where the rice/paddy seedlings sprouted and grown up to certain height before planting to the main field.

We are growing Chini Atap / Govindo Bhog as well as Sampa Masuri rice this year. Since we are doing only organic farming for last so many years that our fields have lots of nutrients and water holding capacity.

So far got good rain, in fact some of our field has little more than required water so far, hopefully will reduce in adequate quantity. Will keep posted about the progress.
